Got his 1st tattoo in '36, the rest in '42, in Hawaii just before shipping out. Spent WW2 with the USMC in the Pacific fighting from island to island. He told me that the tattoo parlor was crazy. They even had a woman doing tattoos. I’m an idiot for not getting more of his story.
