Man o man we are getting slammed with the film crews these days. On
Wednesday once again we had a show filming at the shop. This was for a
new show for Fox called New Amsterdam about this guy John Amsterdam (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who comes to New
York in 1642 saves some girl who makes him immortal but he can't leave
the island of Manhattan and is now a homicide detective. The story of
the Fun City Scene is that he is investigating a tattoo artist. I got
to play the part of the tattooer in the background (again with the
typecasting). The best part of these shoots is that inevitably some of
the extras are friends from the neighborhood. This time Courtney
(thats Jeannie Nitro of the dark n'durty girls to you) was sitting in
the chair getting fake tattooed. Dragonfly was my fake customer and the
shop was filled with fake smoke and a rather large group of people
crammed behind a camera. Such a long day my nice customer was SOOO
patient considering it set us back 3 hours (thanksJill !) And I
apologize for being a royal pain in the ass to all my neighbors I'm
going to have to be more picky about who gets to roll in for this
stuff from now on, It used to be an exciting departure from business as
usual , but these days the filming is the business as usual
Rollover the image to see the crew outside.
