Everyone knows, I like traditional tattoos. That's my thing. Even if they're not entirely traditional, I like color tattoos. Last night I went to Marisa's (of Needles and Sins ) book release party to check out her new book and get a copy, to have, on my shelf. That's what I do, buy tattoo books to have and hopefully use as reference someday to justify the money spent. I looked through Marisa's book and I walked out with three copies. One for myself and one for each shop. Marisa is my friend and I know her to be a very smart and talented lady, but black work tattoos would not be listed in my interest as a tattooer. I knew she would put out a nice book but this book is mind blowing. I can't wrap my head around some of the stuff in there. It's not a cheap book (to order online whith shipping it's $169.35) but weighing in at 6 pounds with an embossed cover, nothing but pages (536) of gorgeous color photos you will see why the price tag is more than justified. Back in the late 80's Ed Hardy published Tattoo Time and it changed what we all thought was possible with tattoos by assembling a collection of work beyond the status quo. This is another book that raises the bar once again and proves that tattooing truly has no limits.
