So I can't understand a word they say but check out this link I was sent for an Icelandic newspaper. I guess Jason has made it to the tattoo convention ok unless he was hijacked by that guy working in his booth I've never seen before.

?Thanks Siggy for the link!

fc-group.gifLots of fun at the shop yesterday Marcus Cuff came by from TATTOO to shoot some photos for the magazine. This shoot was a little more sedate without the mojitos going around. just some cupcakes. We had a good turnout about 20 customers and the best part was the nice weather that allowed Marcus to shoot outside. I will let everyone know when the issue comes out these things usually take a couple months. Thank you to everyone who came by I got a peek at the pictures, they look great!

OK, so as of tomorrow morning i am off to the land of the midnight sun to plunder lost troves of WWII caches and find bobby fisher as well as visit some geothermal hotsprings and eat buttloads of rotten shark meat.
The 2nd Annual Icelandic tattoo festival promises to be one of the best times you can have in a land where the sun doesnt ever go down during the summer. The people are great, the skin is like butter, the drinks are like gasoline and the foods decent. i did the convention last year and it was a stretch as it was the first in a less developed part of the tattooing world. we were all a little skeptical but hopeful. It proved to be one of my fondest travels and have since been back a few times for guest spots. the people are so inviting and friendly. They all have pretty good ideas too, if you dont mind drawing viking helmets and skulls on beautiful women.
It is the 8th through the 10th of June and promises to be full of amazing people art and memories. hopefully i will remember most of them.hopefully i will be comfortable telling them in mixed company. hopefully it will be as great as every other time i've been there.
i will post some pictures of the great times when i return. enjoy the heat, new york.

07_group_booth.jpgWow 10 years, time flies when you're having fun. Tattooing's come a long way in the last 10 years here in the big apple. 10 years ago we were kind of out of the loop in the tattoo world. 10 years ago we came out of a tattooing dark ages following the ban that lasted 30+ years. Now here we are and we have one of the best conventions in the country, tons of talent all around and I think the tightest tattoo community around, Of course I'm biased, yet something about the city, maybe the close quarters, maybe the grit and grime, the energy, the history really makes the tattoo scene here unique. This past weekend we all got to toast 10 years well spent taking back our spot in the global tattoo scene. A big thanks to guys who run the show at Roseland, (Bonge, Butch, Clayton) who give us all a chance to get together once a year, hang out and have something to look forward to the next time around.

The picture up top has Timmy tats in the background working away, Joe Cumbee from Iron Age with the thumbs up then left to right Peggy Punch, Stanley Moskowitz, me, Bill Salmon, Crazy Philidelphia Eddy and Steve Von Riepen.
