Associated Press reports that a Phoenix surgeon faces a disciplinary hearing for snapping a photo of a patients genitals during a gallbladder operation and showing it around to other doctors. Mayo clinic Hospital administrators said Dr.Adam Hansen, chief resident of general surgery, admitted taking the photo with his cell phone on Dec 11th. The tattoo on Strip clud owner Sean Dubowiki's penis reads: "Hot Rod" The surgeon contacted the patient himself so he would not read it in the papers before being notified. Mr. Dubowik, who said he got the tattoo on a bet said that he felt "violated, betrayed and disgusted."
Yeah I feel for you dude, definately creepy but not for nothing you have Hot Rod tattooed on your junk.how much shame can you really have? And before you ask, no, I don't do such tattoos but if you are in the market bring plenty of money and ask for Big Steve.
Speaking of hot rods, I thought the cover of this nifty cd collection one of my clients was kind enough to give me for Christmas was appropriate for this story. It's also good in case you're like me and still shopping and need all the gift ideas you can get. 4 cd's jam packed with 50's punk and rockabilly. The artwork and packaging is awesome, Rhino always has the best compilations. Check it out.

With the holiday season upon us you may still be looking for gift ideas. Every dog lover in your life cannot be without this book, Demo, The Story of a Junkyard Dog. Demo was illustrated by our own Scott Bruns and written by my old roomate Jon Bozak. Scott worked at Daredevil for years I miss him like crazy since he moved to Cape Cod but I still remember the countless hours of work he put into the illustrations for this book. Scott loves cars and Demo is packed with great examples of his skill as an illustrator of cars, machines, jalopies and parts. Most important is the message behind this book and the hero it is named for, Demo the pit bull. Demo has a special place in my heart. I took him in from the warehouse he was chained up in to find him a home. He's such a sweet dog I could not bear to give him to anyone but Jon who has loved him to pieces ever since. This story sets out to inform people of the true nature of the much maligned pit bull breed. Hopefully it can spread some awareness and teach people not to believe the hype and prejudice out there.
This message was posted on the Demo Myspace page .
"From now until Dec. 31, all copies of Demo: The Story of a Junkyard Dog
will include illustrator Scott Brun's autograph in addition to mine,
and Demo's pawtograph. Every person who purchases a book between now
and Dec. 18th will have their name entered in a blind drawing for a
one-of-a-kind copy of Demo that includes a full page, holiday
drawing by Scott on the dedication page. That book will be shipped
overnight to the winner, who's name we'll post here. In edition, we
will donate $100.00 to the Pit Bull rescue/organization of choice of
the individual who purchases the most copies of Demo between now and Dec 31st. We'll make that donation in the winner's name, and post the info here as well."
The book is $17.95 plus shipping it can be ordered on www.demo-dog.com

Its official me and Kevin got married!!! For our 6 year anniversary we surprised everyone and eloped. It's taken me a while to post about it there was a long list of people
that needed to get announcements, phone calls etc before I posted online, but finally the
news is out, we got hitched.
On September 28th 2001 Kevin and I left for our first date a road trip that lasted 4 days. Our first stop was Wellsboro PA, close to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon (that pretty much no one has heard of). 6 years later we retraced our steps back to Wellsboro only this time we stopped and applied for a marriage license. We got to see the canyon and hung out the whole weekend to pass the three day waiting period. The town was great, its like a time capsule, Main street is lined with gaslights. We stayed in the same historic hotel, and ate at the same antique diner.
Monday was the big day. The mayor married us! He was so cool he even suggested we meet him outside in a park for the ceremony. So just me, Kevin, the Mayor and the dogs were present for the happy occasion. I must say it was all very romantic. Giddy and excited we called my folks on the way back to New York. We were able to surprise Kevins parents in person since they live in Long Island. After all this time I think the folks were relieved we got married they didn't even mind that we ran off. It was a ton of fun. I was more worried about telling Brad there would be no wedding but he took the news well, didn't even believe us at first. We told him in person in London. the London convention was that weekend so the next day we were London bound it was definately an adventure packed week.
When we got back to New York we had a photo shoot with Dale for our wedding photos to send out. When Dale sent the final retouched image Kevin mentioned that he thought retouching meant he would get a hairline so 10 minutes later Dale sent over the second version that you can see by rolling over the picture. Lots of laughs and Dale just contiues to out do himself we definately have the best wedding photos ever.
It was great I recommend elopement to anyone, no stress, lots of fun and you can spend more money on shoes! I love being married, I love my ring! I've heard it said tattoo girls don't wear diamonds. NOT TRUE! (wink wink Marissa )

I'm so sad to say that Evil Knievel died today at age 69. His health had been failing for years and he was suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis, an icurable condition that scarred his lungs. Sometimes people ask us if we got the name for our shop from the comic book character. For me Daredevil always meant Evil Knievel. 40 broken bones, a place in the Smithsonian as "Americas Legendary Daredevil" he's jumped 14 Greyhound buses, live sharks, and attempted a jump across the Snake River Canyon in 1974. His crashes put him on the map as much as the jumps he cleared. Knievel always managed to pick himself up and get back on his Harley even if he was coming out of a coma or traction. The guy had guts, he'd tell anyone to go to hell and was one handsome devil till the end. There are other daredevils out there but none with the style and charisma that Knievel had.
